The passions of Padma
Food shows drive me crazy. After watching for five minutes, I'm inevitably drawn to the "pantry," where it's revealed that — oh, right, I forgot to buy groceries this week. Talking to Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi gave me a similar reminder. All her talk of importing French fries to India as a child (by making them on the stove from scratch) to her love of famous food writers to a life-changing omakase menu at O Ya, a Japanese restaurant in Boston, where the upcoming season of the show was shot made me think, O YA (sorry), I'M PRETTY HUNGRY. Trader Joe's rice cakes were the only option, but they'll have to suffice before Top Chef returns October 15. Meanwhile, you can read my cover story on Padma at Muses & Visionaries Magazine.
